Pick My Letter draws a letter from A to Z for a quick prompt in a game or word challenge.
- Choose your options. Vowels and consonants start on, Q, X, and Z are allowed, and no-immediate-repeat starts on.
- Click Generate letter or press Space to draw a letter.
- Use the result in your round as a letter prompt.
A few useful answers
Which letters count as vowels?
The vowels are A, E, I, O, and U. Y is treated as a consonant.
Can I skip Q, X, and Z?
Yes. Q, X, and Z are allowed by default; turn on “Skip tricky letters” to leave them out of the draw.
What does no immediate repeat do?
When it is on, the next draw will not match the letter drawn just before it. It only prevents immediate repeats, so older letters can come up again.
Are some letters more likely than others?
Each eligible letter has an equal chance on the next draw. The generator uses browser crypto where available; it does not use Scrabble-style weighted letter frequencies.
What can I use the letter for?
It can provide a prompt for category games, family games, or word challenges. Adapt it to the activity you are playing.
